A visitor at the house along with many other critters we've seen already including two snakes, raccoon, six deer, foxes, lizards and probably many more we'll discover later. Yet the real surprise came when we were half way through signing papers at closing when my wonderfully astute husband realized that half of the acreage we had intended on purchasing was NOT on the documents!! No one had picked up on this prior and thankfully, since Joe reviews contracts daily at work discovered it before we signed our lives away only to later discover that we owned HALF. So the entire day was spent trying to locate the paper glitch and who had dropped the ball. The offender finally surfaced as the bank out of California who never recorded the deed to the second parcel of land that had been signed by the previous owner 3 years ago. Talk about a nightmare! Imagine if we had discovered this 10 years down the road when wanting to sell. Such a roller coaster of a day but thankfully it was all resolved by having the previous owner quit claim the deed to us. Now we close next week with all the land included with the house, whew!
