We have now declared a war on neti pots!! We'll sort of. You would certainly think so seeing that this little genie figured dish has now gotten the reputation of rotting out the brains of health proponents. Unreal. When this story first broke, my skeptic radar went berserk screaming there's got to be some agenda behind why the neti pot of all things could be accused of such drastic charges. My first thought was some well meaning person left their pot full of water sitting out for days and then decided to wash their nasal cavities with stagnant bacteria filled water. This proved not to be the case, but in my opinion WORSE...that the public water supply was to blame! What? So why's the neti pot criminalized and not the purity of our water industry? You know the one that force medicates the public with fluoride, chlorine and soon coming lithium drugs! Brain eating amoebas are just another invader into an already putrid water concoction...thankfully our stomach acids apparently kill some bacteria when digested. Honestly, I believe along with many others that it's just another attack on something simple that can reap huge dividends in ones health. It's cheap, easy and something anyone can do without the assistance of profit making big pharma. Most people have a difficult time believing that our bodies were fearfully and wonderfully made, only needing a little assistance such as hygiene (nasal rinsing) to improve it's immune response. Remember historically the doctor who declared hand washing saved lives in OB wards? He was run out of practice and eventually died poor and labeled insane by his peers. What have doctors since learned from this man's brilliant but simple observation? That washing hands saves lives...duh! However, this wasn't the so-called brilliant doctors who figured this out but an even more impressive doctor...the Great Physician...God said it first. The Old Testament in our Bible professes cleanliness and documents the importance of hygiene. Hand washing, eating biblically clean foods, washing after touching the dead and abstaining from unclean sexual practices were all instructions for humanity in how to be sanitary, reduce disease and boost immunity. Little neti pot is just a tool used by man to attempt to stay clean. Unfortunately, man today has to deal with unclean air and germs on a bigger scale than in biblical days, washing noses is just another extension of washing ones hands.
Also, what is equally interesting is that these bacteria, although supposedly harmless when swallowed, can inflict harm when breathed? I would venture to say that we breath things of potentially more harm on a daily basis, which is proof why rinsing the cavity poses less risk than not. I know of many healthy regular neti pot users and NONE who have actually died from it. The directives of using distilled or filtered water for rinsing is a good idea seeing as though tap water is deadly...even to drink. Better check out a home filtration system...especially one that filters fluoride.
Personally, during these winter months my family is not just limited to the neti pot. We also use at times a sugar (xylitol) rinse, homeopathics, nebulized colloidal silver and inhaled essential oils. Another great trick for warding off colds and bugs is to wash the ears with hydrogen peroxide. Think about it...ears, nose and throat are all connected, but how often do we wash our ear canals? Works best when you feel run down or have the makings of a sore throat. Laying down, fill one ear with peroxide, wait until bubbling stops (about 5 minutes) then drain. Repeat for the other ear. Sometimes it may burn a little. Repeat a second time later if needed. Often times this is enough to abort whatever might be brewing. Children can benefit from this as well. Another old remedy that costs pennies. Probably will show up in the future in the news funded by pharma that it causes infertility or something stupid.
So, want to believe the media scare? Then don't read the article below...it just might change your mind and trust the neti pot once more.
