Knights, princesses, castles, swords...
The embodiment of the medieval period of history. The kids and I have really enjoyed learning more about the wars and chivalrous codes of this unique period of time. Constructing a castle to end our unit was an appropriate hands-on activity. Our oldest in particular loved learning about the armor and swords used in battle. A proud owner himself of a five foot long clay moor sword made for realistic reenactments in the backyard! Glad we no longer need those kinds of weapons. Ultimately, it will be wonderful when we can all beat weapons into plow shares and speak of war no more.
