Had a great time with some old (meaning faithful...not AGE just in case you are reading this guys!!) friends recently who brought with them their metal detector so we could explore the lesser known areas of our property. Having an old silo and stone/brick chimney left over from a home we knew there was the possibility of finding some neat things. One hope was to discover the approximate age of the home that once stood.

| Taking our adventure down by the spring we noticed this tree with fun carvings. Kept calling them hieroglyphics. |
So, after unearthing mostly old nails and bottle caps our big find was still the Ball lid. Thankfully, our friends knew that you could date the lids based on their signature which might tell us the approximate age of the old home. Sure enough after close inspection the name matches well with the 1910-1923 time frame. Very interesting to know and look forward to hopefully discovering more history behind this old home.
