Bays Mountain Field Trip

In spite of the work to be done around the house, we still make the time for some fun and educational outings as part of our home learning.  The Kingsport area lies between several mountain ridges, one of which is Bays Mountain.  This ridge also contains the largest city owned park in Tennessee.  My sweet sister-in-law gave us a family membership to the park as a house warming gift as she knew our love for the outdoors and anything educational, so we promptly took advantage of it!  If you are ever in the Tri-Cities area, it's a great place to visit with plenty to see and do.  Hiking, mountain biking, adventure courses, planetarium, animal refuge and barge rides are just a few of the fun things available.  Deer walk around freely and will even walk up to you if you are still enough!
