Had a great time traversing the mountain behind our home and exploring what lies beyond. We took the four wheelers and kids (minus William of course) and drove to the top, stopping along the way to pick a few of the thousands of red raspberries that grow along the trails. Truly a sight to behold of beautiful red treats, stopping only for a few quick indulgences!
We forgot the GPS as we were going to calculate the altitude of the peak, but know it's quite steep although still fairly easy to traverse with the ATVs. We've cleared a few trails yet several more remain, which we will mark in the future for ease of hiking. At the summit there's an overlook and cleared area for picnicking, etc. Joe has expressed hopes of hunting this fall on the mountain and coincidentally found a nice tree stand already in place! The surprises just keep on coming. We feel truly blessed to own such a property and can't help but get excited over all the interesting little "finds".
Below are some highlights. I had hoped to capture some critters, but I'm sure all our noise scared any smart creature far away.
