Sewing Part Deux
As promised, wanted to share the sewing project my soon-to-be nine year old completed. She chose her project, fabrics, and used the pattern to cut out the various pieces. She also learned machine set up, pinning and stitching. She did a great job for her first go around. There was a bit of an oops in the front of the apron which she was able to cover with an iron-on I had laying around, but other than that it turned out quite cute.
What's next? Pillows! She and her brother have both taken an interest in making all sorts of pillows with scraps (as seen behind her). They both have also learned to sew on buttons and mend basic rips. Easy skills that will serve them well as they grow.
